Been a busy last 5 days or so in the world of Crystal…
Last Thursday I had plans with my mom, we headed to Yankee Candle in Deerfield, then hit up Webs in Northampton and lunch at Northampton Brewery, was a fun day of candles, yarn and beer. I ended up having a low key Thursday, as I am currently on unemployment so I can’t really go out as much as I would like, so I saved money for Saturday night for Will’s going away dinner.
Friday I did job search and school work in the am followed by a job fair at the DCU, there were a couple companies there I have not yet discovered so I have connected and applied.
Saturday I headed to Wachusett for a decent hike, the trails were very muddy but this silly mid-March 70 degree weather is out of control, it has been and will be in the high 60′s to 80′s this week. Again it is mid-March! I got in about 6 miles on my loop on the mountain and headed home to get some school work done and relax before it was time to head to Bocado for dinner. Dinner was a success, about 11 people plus a couple of Will’s co-workers stopped by to say hey. Before dinner Will and I met up with Jason at The Greyhound, closing weekend very sad indeed. Dinner was laughs and fun, drinks and delicious food, I had this killer sinus headache from the hike in the am so I dropped Will off at the Dive and I headed home to sleep.
Sunday I was looking forward to Matt getting back from his fishing trip with his dad in Maine, I had been feeding his fish while he was gone, bought him a few candles and cleaned up the dinner mess we made before he left for Maine. So in the morning I got all my reading done for this weeks assignments for my two classes and ran some errands, Matt ended up getting home around 2ish. We had already planned to look for some new boots for him as his current ones were a mess, so we went to REI and EMS, he was able to find a new shirt and pants at REI and I returned my rain pants because of the ill fit. I was lucky and found a Mountain Hardware lined softshell for 44 bucks, originally 130. Then at EMS about 15 minutes before they were going to close we grabbed Matt some new Merrell boots, I think they are pretty sexy hiking boots. We then grabbed dinner and beers at Sea Dog seeing as we were already in Northboro, the night was relaxing as we both realized we have yet just chilled and watched a movie, I finally saw Puss In Boots, I was not as excited about it as I thought I was going to be.
Yesterday was the last day of winter and just about 80, yes 80 degrees out. Matt and I got up early and after a couple stops for a car charger for his Iphone and coffee we made it to Monadnock, the mountain was perfect yesterday except a couple spots where shade was always present housed some ice, not much. It was sunny, not a cloud in the sky perfect hiking day, funny it was the warmest winter hike I have ever been on. We stopped at Gardner Ale House for a Post-Hike Beer and an app just to keep us tied over until dinner. Last night was Will’s last night in Worcester, weird 3 months he stayed with me, it was a good time, we had a lot of fun times, but it was time. So I made dinner of my yummy pizza’s and beer. There seemed to be a theme of beer, but all yummy local beer all weekend, that is the only way to do it. I ended up at Matt’s to just get up at 5am to bring Will to Union Station.
Today was a day of “Booth Time” at NuCafe, I have been here since 7am, but thinking it is time to get outside. I have completed this weeks school work and applied for about 9 jobs today so productive I was. Other then jobless and needing to find a place to live soon (honestly as soon as I get a job I am moving, if only to be settled and not feel so up in the air, I need closure on one part of my life, and start anew) I am really happy, it is Spring (officially this morning), I have met a pretty amazing guy who is sweet, funny, goofy, caring, and I think enjoys getting outside MORE than me (just what I need), so far very much enjoying getting to know him and going on lots of adventures, yay for living life…
On a plus side, I am down to a standard skin colored band-aid no more big white bandage on my finger..Woot woot
