I have had a challenging week to put it lightly. Seems there is this fork in the road of my life. I may need to soon make decisions that will change much of my life. Not ones I want to make but a girl can’t live “on potential” forever.
I have never been shy about my unhappiness with the condo building I live in. A building that is amazingly beautiful has many flaws. Thinsg keep happening that cause my hatred against this building more and more. I have wanted to get out of our place even if it is by short sale, it just doesn’t make sense for me. I never planned on staying there long term and with units selling for 50-60k it will be a very long time before we would ever see that money back. People are stupid and naive if they think housing prices will come up that much in the next 5 years. That is what I am always told, that if we did not want to sell anytime soon it doesn’t matter, well I never wanted to live in this place that long, a person can only live in a one room condo for so long, not 20-30 years. More and more units are rentals and not owner occupied, there are already 2 other units that will most likely be sold and they will become rentals too. So even if we could sell our place in the future to break even we will never find someone who is able to get a mortgage because the owner occupancy will be like 5% if that. So we live in a money pit and I WANT OUT…
Wish I was the only one that had to make that decision would have been gone a year ago……

Been a crazy past week…
This past weekend Neil and I went to Paulie’s NOLA Jazz and Blues fest, perfect weather for the day, surprise-surprise with the last two months we have had. We caught “Bruno” and “My Sister’s Keeper”, yes Neil sat through the second one and I should give him award for doing so.
Sunday was a lot of things around the house and laying out on the roof, again is was a wonderful day outside..
Busy week with school and internship… and I have to go to the school on Friday to give a speech, yay fucking yay.
Saturday we are heading to Broomfield and hopefully I will come back with some goodies, bringing the credit cards…..

Well the 4th of July weekend is upon us… The weather has been the same for a month now, rain and clouds every single day, a burst of sunshine for an hour and right back to clouds. From what it seems this June was the worst June for weather-ever. Hopefully we get a break this weekend.
Originally we were suppose to be putting together our deck tiles we bought for 200 sq feet because we were told by the inspector that it was good to go, then come to find it is not good to go and I am a bit frustrated with the whole process. It took a lot of me to feel better about the building but the one more battle of trying to get something to work in our favor is smashed again. We live in a condo because we wanted to live a easy no hassle life, and here we are living the life of a single family homeowner with no rights. The whole thing has got me pretty down over the last couple days and pretty ready to walk. We are down to 4 owner occupied units in the building and one owner of rental units who seems ready to buy up the building. I am not going to be the last one standing, I am not going to be the last owner when the building becomes 95% rental property. I am tired of the bank for not pushing the marketing of the building, I am tired of individual investors looking out for their own interest and not those of the people who actually have to live in the building day in and day out…
I have started to day dream of renting again, looking at apartments online with pools, state of the art fitness centers and so on and the rent is 600 less than we are putting out each month. I think I am the fool. The ability to move if I want, the ability to come and go and take a job somewhere else down the road without worrying about owning a money pit of a condo that is never going to even sell for what we paid for it. I never planned on staying more than 5 years and at this rate we could be looking at 15 years….That will not be me…
I am hoping to have some fun this weekend. Neil mentioned white water rafting and I looked into the 3 hour zipline tour in the Berkshires…. I think Neil and I need some time for fun, been too much work and not enough play.
Finals this week…..New classes start on Monday….I am getting close almost done….. At least this leg of the schooling. I think I need some sunshine so I can be happy, Vitamin K Deficiency
Crazy me…. Thinking of returning part time to my last employer for some extra money…
