MY thoughts in less than two paragraphs on Michael Jackson’s Death

“Maybe its just me…I seem to be the only person I know that can just have or not have something in my life and never feel much different. To me I have never looked up to anyone..Maybe someone very intelligent when I wished I was as smart as they were.

I can’t look at someone like MJ today and say “hell the world will be very different without himRead More in it” because truthfully he was not someone I even thought of in a couple years. He has not brought anything new into the mix and many years so him DEAD or ALIVE makes no difference to me…”

I have been slacking lately well not so much at all. With school and work my brain tends to be full of everything but the opportunity to sit and write anything worth anything. The sun is out on this fine morning and that is about the 1st time in a very long time that I wake up to brightness in the house.
Last night I meet up with Jen who was a dear friend in High School and as far as her drive and what she wants out of life she has not stopped moving forward, I am very happy she has done all she said she would do. The paths that people lives follow and intertwine always is an interest to me.Part of me has a twinge of jealously towards someone that does exactly what they said they would.
For me I have a lot going on and staying busy at all times
Heading to the River of Falls today so we can check out Rene Gagnon’s Gallery showing. Will have a write up following that.

Despite the rainy day that it was the farmers market just a mile down the road from work was a happening place. My plan for the summer is to hit up the farmer’s market here in Worcester on Saturdays and the farmer’s market in Belmont on Thursdays after work.
Today I picked up:

Still early in the season, I can’t wait until veggie season here in Massachusetts is fully underway.

OK I am pretty tired of seeing Lady Gaga all over the interweb because of her great style… More or less she walks around in underwear all the time, and tries to pull off the white hair sunglass look as if it is her own. The BIG glasses do a mediocre job of covering her HUGE nose but the look is not hers..

Watermelon Beer! Hell or High Watermelon

Not sure what I would think, but I am Crystal and up for trying almost anything.
21st Amendment Brewery made a watermelon beer, brewed with watermelon puree.
Not to shabby. Very low ABV, so very drinkable. As Neil mentioned good tanning on the roof beer. Yes it is in a can, cans are better for the beer as no light can enter and better for the environment. I will drink these as I do boxes of wine. Still 10 bucks for a six pack but a good summer beer.

First Farmer’s Market of 2009

Pretty lucky are we in the Main South to have a Farmer’s Market on Saturdays.
Being the first farmers market of the year I was not expecting too much, the growing season has just began in Massachusetts. But I left with some great finds today.

1) Organic Boston Lettuce and Cooking Greens.
2) A Beautiful Loaf of Cinnamon Raisin Bread from Daily Bread
3) Jalapeno Cilantro Goat Cheese from Crystal Brook Farms in Sterling
4) Vegetable Havarti from Smith’s Farmstead
5) Fresh Tortillas and Salsa from Sol of Mexico (which I already browned and ate with Neil)

Both cheeses were brought there from Gibson’s Dairy Farm Delivery and Store, for those who like they have fresh milk, eggs and ice cream. Whose motto is “You Can Whip our Cream but you Can’t Beat our Milk.”

Anyways do not forget next week to check out what will be at the Farmers Market. Located on Main St across from the Artichoke Co-op, runs from 10-2 on Saturdays all summer long.

The Lighter That Will Never Die

The lighter that will never die.

Here is the story in 2000 I came home on Labor Day Weekend from Denver. I spent the the weekend with my friend Tasha in Providence. At that time I was the occasional smoker of American Spirits (when I drank only). So that night I needed a lighter, we went to the local Cumberland Farms and I picked this one up. Being all Colorado of me it had a guy descending from his day of rock climbing.

Here is the kicker… The lighter still works. It has been used MANY times over the last almost 9 years. I have bought other BIC lighters and they are dead within a couple weeks, but somehow this lighter has traveled with me over the last 9 years being used more than any other lighter and I have not lost it.
