What a truly amazing day.
I took the day off from work today because if I could not be in DC I was at least going to be glued to the TV and any news media I could get into my hands.
This day really happened and happened so perfectly, I sat here jealous of all the folks who were standing on the National Mall even if it was only 20 degrees outside.
Neil and I headed over to the Abbey when Alec posted that he would be in fact turning the shiny screen in the corner on with volume. We sat enjoyed some Obamagang an inaugural ale from Ommegang Brewery, ate lunch and watched the speech. Upon coming home continued to watch the days events unravel.
Sitting here watching the Neighborhood Ball and watched the first dance between Obama and Michelle. One thing I can say is the love that the President of the United States shows to his wife and two adorable daughters is hard to find these days. You can see the love between Michelle and Barack (Mr. President, doesn’t that sound great).
I personally am very excited for the next 4 years, then the following 4 years.
America made me proud….
