I am feeling ……………exhausted

Sometimes no matter how much you want things to be happy go lucky and you want to make yourself just be positive, things just hit you.

There has been some serious drama in my family for the last few months between personal issues and sickness among many people in the family. I am the one that is removed from the situation, I am the ears and rational between people. I am the one person my mother can vent to without worrying that I will worry to much. I live here everyone else lives elsewhere, I am not sitting with all this in my face at all times. I am living my very busy anti social life in Worcester while the rest of my family is on constant phone calls and text messages.

Today my mother told my brothers girlfriend that she needed to go. My folks are good people they have let my brother and his girlfriend along with her daughter and my brothers baby live in the downstairs in-law apartment rent free, only having to pay the electricity bill. Well the girlfriend who I loved like a sis, I have stuck up for all along and was the mediator when she was first in the picture, she has went a bit crazy after the baby was born almost 2 months ago. She is going out, partying, leaving the baby with Mike so she can galavant and live the “single” life since they are officially broken up but she is still living there. Then had the nerve to move her low class mother in with her downstairs. What the friggen nerve of a girl that my family has not wanted living downstairs, who should be kissing ass but instead is running her mouth to let her mother move in because she once again has man problems. The problems are only piling up each day. My brother sits back after stating he was wanting to move on, that he would not deal with her bullshit is now sitting there saying “we love each other”. Sorry my dear brother she doesn’t love you, you may love her but from what people said this is how she is…A player…of the girlie gender..She is scared that she has nowhere to go and will now tell him anything to stay with him. SHE is using him….Makes me sad.
So after hearing this story today my mom calls back to tell me Grammie G passed away this morning. Yes she was 93 years old but only in the last year had her license taken away and we had a huge fro her 90th three years ago…She was having TIA’s for the last few weeks and had cerebral bleeding and kidney failure. She got to see her kitty yesterday that they snuck into the hospital for her to see, she then passed today.

So on top of all other things I have been the EARS of my family and I am feeling a bit empty right now…

So Neil and I took our bikes to Lincoln, RI today to hit some rail trail- trails. We finally hit up the portion of the RI trails. We did about 9 miles of riding this afternoon, nice easy trails and most people follow the protocol of the trails.

All I can say didn’t everyone learn in elementary school “stay to the right?”

TOMS shoes

From website: “Inspired by an Argentine shoe with a hundred year history and the continent’s poverty and health issues, TOMS was created with a singular mission: To make life more comfortable. TOMS accomplishes this through it’s ultra lightweight design and the company’s commitment to match every pair purchased with a donated pair to a child in need…there are no complicated formulas, it’s simple.you buy a pair of TOMS and the company gives a pair to a child on your behalf. The vibrant colors and patterns in the debut collection depict Blake Mycoskie’s life changing experiences in his travels to South America where he embraced the lifestyle wholeheartedly and therefore gave back by creating TOMS – shoes for Tomorrow. “

Blake Mycoskie

Since May of 2006 TOMS has given more than 10,000 shoes to children in Argentina and over 50,000 shoes to children in South Africa. They expect to give more than 200,000 shoes to children around the world in 2008.
For every pair of shoes bought TOMS gives one pair to needy children in third world nations.
Check it out, seems they have the “Wrap boots” coming soon and I so think they are cute. So I signed up for any updates on those snazzy boots. It is less the look and more the cause. To be truly green means to wear and live for the well being of just more than yourself.

Creme Brulee Stout

Jul
No Comments   Posted by Ms C. |  Category:Uncategorized

Something I have wanted to do for a long time, last night Julie, Neil, and myself went to the wine tasting at KJ Barron’s, talked to the guy holding the tasting about Absinthe and wanted a bit more to drink. So we headed over to The Dive and had a few drinks. I chatted about with all the beers I have tried over the past 7 years of being a legal drinker (because microbreweries do not serve minors), I wish I would have kept up with each, journal about all the great beers I have had and so on… I regret that more than anything.

Lucky for me and my good memory I still remember my first sip of Tommyknockers Glacier Ale and Avery beer fresher than fresh.

Last night I was having a hard time choosing a beer because I have to say that was about the best line up of craft beers at The Dive in some time. Seriously I could have happily had any of them. Well expect Mayflower’s IPA (way to hoppy for my liking)

Last night I had to try Southern Tier’s Creme Brulle, OH MY GOD. I have never went wrong picking up any bottle of Southern Tier beer. I am personally attached to their Choklat Stout. Last night they had both the Jah*Va and the Creme Brulee Stout.

I had two glasses of the Creme Brulee stout which was a desert in beer form. The aroma was that of a very creamy desert and as the bartender put it…Need a cookie to dip into it…

Then she made me one that was half Jah*va and half Creme Brulee. Coffee and desert. Can’t beat it…

Bella’s Gourmet Market -Putnam CT.

Jul

So I am driving around Putnam yesterday and honestly wanted nothing more than a soy chai and headed in the direction of downtown. I was 100% expecting to go to Victoria Station on Main St. I parked my car in the public parking lot and walked to the door and noticed it was now “Bella’s Gourmet Market.”

I said hell I am always looking for something new and exciting to try. I went in and the set up is very much like Tom’s Gourmet in Northboro. She has Olive Oils, Speciality Pastas, sauces and chutneys for sale. Along with a very cute Gelato counter and deli counter.

I couldn’t resist I pulled out $5.00 and bought my self a very yummy cup of gelato.

Sad that Victoria Station is no longer there but this is a nice little market that seems to be moving with the small town I grew up in. Putnam has become something I would have never thought it could be, funny to see the small dead mill town grow again. 50 years after the flood that made the town a blue collar working town, now seems to say class. I would almost live there again…..nahhhhh

Mondays- Closed

Tuesday Thru Saturday-11am to 10pm

Sunday 11am to 8pm

75 Main St. Putnam CT 06260. ( Next door to “85 Main Street”)

Nuttin Goin On in this Grrls Life

Jul
No Comments   Posted by Ms C. |  Category:Uncategorized

I wish I had something of importance to talk about lately. Haven’t been doing much and staying pretty low key. Last weekend we had the yard sale and made about $150.00 and got rid of our “junk”, although most was not junk…
Then with half the day taken on Sunday with cleaning the building, there was little time for much else…
This week I am contemplating getting the cleaning (at least my portion done on Friday afternoon, just to have time for me and to clean the house)
Last night I started my night class, to help me get done quicker and start my externship on August 11th as planned. Seems I will be completing my externship @ Fallon and hopefully they will love me so much and just want to offer me a position. I would love to be able to just cruise on downtown for the next few years for work. I have never worked and lived in the same city, well I take that back. I did in Denver. But any time I have spent back on the eats coast at the minimum I had a 30 minute commute.

So how awesome would that be….

Well off to class, I officially am in class 32 hours a week right now….sighhhh Just for the next 3 weeks…

Screw St. Cyr and bad customer service

Jul
No Comments   Posted by Ms C. |  Category:Uncategorized

I am big on Customer Service. I believe that the customer’s needs come first, they may or may not be right, but they need to be recognized.
So today I called St. Cyr Salon to set an appointment up with Julia, the best stylist for my hair in Worcester proper. I know they do not have “hours” on Mondays but I know they do take some appointments. So I called this morning to make an appointment with Julia for hopefully the end of the week.

I called and pressed “0″ to get to an “operator” and a woman answered” Hello Gloria speaking, thank you for calling St. Cyr, How may I help you?” So I proceeded to say “I wanted to set an appointment up with Julia for this Friday.” SLAM, down went the phone, no explanation, no “we have no hours today please call back tomorrow,” it was an HONEST TO GOODNESS SLAM THE PHONE DOWN.

I called right back to see if there was a mistake in doing so, and no answer at all.
I will make it know there is no way in hell I will let Ms. Gloria get away with SHITTY customer service and I will make it known. Of course if it was not for Julia being the best hair stylist I have dealt with since moving back east from Denver, I would never step foot in that salon again.

Who ever Gloria is should realize that is not how business is run…… If you are going to not speak and treat a customer with respect, do everyone a favor and do not answer the phone if all you will do is hang up..

Can I put one more thing on the top….

Jul
No Comments   Posted by Ms C. |  Category:Uncategorized

I say I start over this moment going forward. I know I am not to apologize for not writing but I feel like a slacker. When in reality I am nothing of the sort. Just super busy with life…
Lets see….

  • Getting ready to go back to work… Can you believe it that I am almost done with my classes at Salter and ready to move on.. I have been spending my free time researching companies and network with people in the Health Information and Coding and Billing world. I feel like I have made a great deal of contacts here in Worcester and it will only benefit me going forward. Hopefully I hear back from Genzyme. I know I will be able to do my externship at Fallon and I would love the experience I would get from doing so. But soon money will be a real issue and I am scared that once I am done with my 3 weeks I would not have anything to make money doing. No job is guaranteed, even though I am very much confident in my abilities to be flexible and work anywhere, I need to convince others of that also. So with being a full-time student since last November I am a bit nervous about going into a shaky job market jumping into a new career. But it is as exciting as it is nerve racking.
  • Getting ready for my next educational journey. I love school, I love to learn, I soak in everything I can. Finally my life is where I am able to attend school and improve upon myself daily. I will be doing my next school 100% online thru Fisher College in Boston. I will be attending school for my degree in Health Information Technology. It is one of the few AHIMA approved programs in the country. Not the cheapest but it works around my busy life. Once I am complete here I will be able to sit for my RHIT and that will open another whole world to me. With the medical records world moving from paper to electronic, the need for a RHIT is ever expanding. I think I finally found my niche. Not it is not art school or something creative, but it really works for me. I can wrap my brain around this, a perfect career for someone with OCD like me. I will be starting my classes in November
  • Study….Study….Study….. for sitting for the CPC with AAPC. I hope to register and sit for the exam in October. Many people suggest I wait until I am coding for sometime. But again I GET IT. I seriously understand all aspects of coding. I started working on my Practice CPC exam. All 137 pages of it…
  • Getting ready for my BIG YARD SALE this weekend…

YARD SALE – 8 Thompson Ave Putnam CT 06260 July 19th from 9am until 2pm

  • Neil and I are now the cleaning crew for the building. It helps us financially while we are in this transition period in life. While I am trying to figure out how to get a job, clean my homes that I clean, take a night class until September…We starting cleaning this past weekend it took 11 man hours since the building has not be completely cleaned in a good 7 months. I assume that future weekends will be 3-4 hours total.
  • Figuring out how I will keep my 4 homes that I have been cleaning since I started school. I feel like I owe it to the families I clean for to keep cleaning for them. But again I have a night class until the end of September and then I start school with Fisher in November…All while going back to school full-time.
  • Dealing with some sickness in my family which just adds to the stress of each day. But I keep hopefully that people are getting better.

So as much as I may be SLACKER on the blog, my real life has been CRAZY..

Again come to the YARD SALE this weekend if you are in the PUTNAM area…..
