The housing prices are crazy low right now…
I looked at this place on Vernon Hill on Sterling Street. The price at the time was $175k. I liked how much space was there but no way in hell did I want to deal with 15 coats of paint on the wainscoting.
Well this condo sold for $125,000 a couple weeks ago…
Then some time ago I saw this cute condo in a Victorian home near elm park… It was around the 170k range. Was last assessed at $175k, now for sale for $124.9K.
Both of these condos boast large sq footage for a very low price…
@ 51 Sterling there is still units for sale in this converted Triple Decker… Check this one out… If the 2nd floor went for 124K then I am sure the 3rd floor could go for less…
I think this will be my new adventure.. It is amazing at homes we looked at in thew fall of 2006 that we could not afford and some of them are still on the market and priced way below what they started at. Sighhhhhh

Happy Memorial Day Weekend….
Been busy and not the most relaxed but having fun again. I think Neil and I are more confidant in where this building that we own in is going. So we are allowing ourselves to start having fun again.
Friday we headed up to Maine, I wanted nothing more than to have some fresh beer at a Brewery, the Allagash Brewery decided on Thursday that they would be closing at 12 noon on Friday and there would be no tours offered. So we looked into other places. I noticed that just in Old Port neighborhood there was Sebago Brewing Company, Gritty’s Brew Pub and Shipyard Brewery. So I think we were all set…..
We got up to Portland around 11am and headed to a restaurant that I read about in Yankee Magazine (yes even people in their 20′s can read this magazine). They did a special about Portland chefs and some local recipes. There was the sister/brother restaurants, one of them being only dinner called Cinque Terre (but they had amazing things on their menu) and then the one we had lunch at Vignola. I had a veggie panni that had everything from green beans, broccoli and roasted red peppers on it and Neil had this Brisket Hash with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. It was a very good lunch….
We were full but headed over to Sebago on Middle Street to have a beer or two. Low and behold we ended up sitting next to the VP/brewmaster of the company, Kai Adams. He was a gem to speak with and after a few minutes of talking beer with him, he gave us the king of samplers and we were able to try all of their current beers. The beer I bought for myself was this barley wine that was to die for. It was a pleasant time at Sebago Brewing Company and we will go back and this time take Kai up on the tour of the brewery. I will be suggesting to Alec at the Dive that he needs to carry these beers more often.
After leaving Sebago we walked around a bit and then walked right into Gritty’s Brew Pub, I am a fan of the Black Fly Stout and Neil had Vactionland Ale. I noticed after I ordered they also had the stout on cask, but oh well. Good either way…
We continued our adventures around Portland, the city if not for the 100 inches of snow each winter I would move to in a heartbeat. It is one of my favorite little cities in New England. Cute shops, nice people (who seem to rant about us from Massachusetts, but hell a lot of us spend our money up there in those parts). Spent a couple hours last night looking at real estate, something Neil and I do a lot of…. Found one to many cute condos in Old Port. Sighhhhhhhh
We then went up to Freeport because I have been on the mission to find a black zip up girlie hoodie, my favorite one now has some pretty holes in it…Need new one… We went to LL Bean and to North Face (where we were able to get very cheap on clearance clothing items). The rain started and it was late enough that we drove our butts home.

As some people know I am one of those people that is always on top of my game, I live/thrive to be the one that does the best, gets it done first and is always organized. I spend hours a week going over details in my life from bills to future events. I think sometimes I waste a great deal of my day worrying about things I have real no control over and some point rather soon I need to just stop for a day or two.
School I love but I am not in love with the school I attend. Sometimes I feel like it is a 1st grade classroom on how the teachers get zero respect unless they are “One of the gang” and people just do what they want with no purpose in life. I started there in November and been doing really well, but because I put the effort in and also because I have a crazy memory that remembers every detail of everything. To put it simply, I memorize everything. I do believe it sticks and I sometimes shock myself with the random knowledge I posses. Seriously, if I can toot my own whistle…I am fairly intelligent, sometimes my mouth forgets that and runs off saying what it wants to. Also, I am well rounded, I have travelled, worked and lived all over the place and I read anything I can get my hands on. When something new is introduced into my life I learn as much about it as I can to be considered a “small time expert” but with written words only and not always thru the experience. But people underestimate me, I am far from a uneducated and I am have made sure I have experienced a lot in my life so that I never miss out. While all these young girls are out getting knocked up I am working on me, making sure my life will be good.
So today at school they came in and said that I had to do the A&P lab, what does a Coder need to do in a A&P lab, I do not need nor will I dissect anything. I know they work with goats hearts and brains. But I AM NOT DOING IT. I say fail me. Also were the hell do they get off, saying “Oh yeah, starting now you need to do the lab.” The lab is either on Mon & Wed nights or Fridays. I am sorry I have obligations that are means to money on those days and it will not work for me. I was not told that I would have to give up my Fridays or evenings when I enrolled. I work on those days and for myself not for a boss, that I can just have someone cover for me.
Then my insurance came in as WAY too much money for the little I drive my car. So I shopped around and got new insurance…So hopefully I will be good to go..
Just seems to be so much on my plate right now, I have finals next week, the auction is occurring next Thursday and I am tired. But gotta keep trucking…

It is time I held myself accountable.
Here are a list of things that I need to make sure I stick to :
- Lose 30 lbs by September, somehow I let my worried transpire into eating food for the last year….yuck.
- Drink less beer, seems I have been on the kick with the weather getting nice and a need to have some tasty belgium brew.
- Not pay $4.00 per drink at Starbucks anymore and also to stop buying lunch out each day…
- Get back in shape, this is over and beyond the whole lose weight thing…I need to start walking, working out and riding my bike more..
- Just be happy…
- Convert 100% to Veganism. I am having so much issues with CHEESE, please someone help me. I can eat yummy homemade pizzas with just veggies but give me a bagel and cream cheese is my down fall..
- Pay down all my credit card debt, it caused my credit score to drop a bit because I have been carrying this debt, but only being able to make payments monthly versus every month paying off my cards drives me crazy…

So this past week I was interviewed by the Telegram and Gazette regarding condos in Worcester. Well the photographer came on Thursday and now I am scared….
How did the weight creep on so easily.
Anyways at least read the story, and ignore my picture. Unfortunately for me my pic is plastered on the cover of the Business Section on this fine Sunday….

So on our trip to Beacon NY (more on that later) we ran into the ” Glamour Kills Clothing” store. What fantastic tee shirts for $20.00…
I got the “Save the World” shirt…..
The company was started by a 20 year old kid. They have presences in Zumiz and TSK’s.
But they are fun shirts for twenty bucks!

So it has happened, the gas prices are always about 20 cents per gallon in Northeast Connecticut than here in Worcester. My mom did let me know that gas was now over $4.00 a gallon… Here it will be there soon enough.
That would mean that in my short driving life I have been able to fill a compact car with $12.00 worth of gas and now with $42.00 worth of gas.
The same size gas tank but $30.00 difference in price….
Let’s see never mind the 12 year I have had a license but just the 7 years since I spent $93.00 to drive from Denver, CO to Putnam, CT. 1980 miles on $93.00 worth of gas, the highest price I paid was in Pennsylvania at $1.02 per gallon in mid November of 2001.
Sighhhhhhhhhh
