So I am sick and tired of being so damn down and out. You know what I mean if you are a reader.
I write my blog as if no one is going to read it, maybe this makes me much more open than others. I write this because it is my way of processing my daily life, while putting thoughts out that sometimes I hate long after I write it.
So what am I looking forward too….

I need to update my blogroll/sites I love. Scott Zoback from ” Worcester Magazine” started his live blogging, all day long updating site called “Daily Worcesteria.” He mentioned Neil and I in The Blogs We Love. Thanks Scott.
So many great local bloggers in Worcester, I love reading each and every one of them. I will put together a list of great blogs to check out to really dig in deep to what makes Worcester- Worcester.

My last post was a bit on the hostel front.
Maybe I expect to much from people, you know honesty.
Spoke today with Tom from the Banker & Tradesman , he also spoke with Neil.
He mentioned that Brett sent him an email stating that there is plenty of interest in the building that this will become a thriving community. We of course set Tom straight that indeed this is not the case. The Hill Team that is the “broker” for this building mentioned there was plenty of offers recently but they were to “low” for his liking and they would agree that the people were not able to get financing.
Brett, get off your high horse, have you watched the news, read the paper, hum lived in the United States. Massachusetts is in the Top 10 states for foreclosures. People are scared to purchase and you sit there playing god with the market. The properties are not worth what you are trying to get from them.
They have sit empty for just over a year with no money coming in for the last 8 months when we purchased. You have turned down plenty of good acceptable offers.
Who is this man you ask. He is a criminal defense lawyer in Boston. His office is on the basement floor of a building on Court st.
Here is my advice: if you are a hardened criminal HIRE HIM. Every word out of his mouth is a lie.
Today he was beating around the bush about the ROOF DECKS that three of the current owners purchased that have no been completed. Seems that having this in a contract form is not enough. By declaring bankruptcy they have covered more of any lawsuits. But I can do something more than take their shady asses to court. I can ruin their name. I can make sure no one does business with them again.
You know I am almost ready to contact the woman whose accident scares were sent to me by “accident” from Brett. let her know what a GREAT lawyer she has. Again Neil brought this up to him today and he was speechless.
I will soon have the story that is being typed up right now by Tom at the Banker & Tradesman Journal and I will let people see this.
We are not full to capacity or even 50% because Brett expects people to pay 2006 prices on these units and he is GREEDY. He doesn’t care about the people currently living here, who own not even rent these units. We spend our hard earned money to have to take care of everything ourselves. I am waiting for the garbage company not to get paid and watch as the waste piles up outside.
Brett Levy
I use to like Kathleen until I learned of her behavior when she was asked questions about our building. You shady ass woman.

Until the bank takes over…..
The LLC HE & PG. AKA Brett Levy and Kathleen Buckley are criminals. Brett is a liar and the lowest of creeps.
He showed up at the cancelled auction today and Neil was able to speak with him. Brett still believes that the building is worth the money they originally thought, does not want to sell for less and would want to rent until he can sell them.
He is a shitty ass trustee, I would hate to have him as a landlord. We have over the last 6 months send numerous emails and certified letters, made phone calls they never answer.
They never get back to us and when they do …..IT IS ALL LIES or BEATING AROUND THE BUSH.
Neil brought this up to him today and it was followed by a ” I don’t have to deal with this I will go outside” . Brett is fucking lucky that myself or Andy were not there. Because I could easily last a night in jail for the mear satisfaction of punching him the hell out.
He does not realize that the 8 owners in the building are all ready to leave, we are ready to foreclose and walk away from our units.
Brett Levy, since I know you read this…. We love our units ( even that I am starting to hate) But we despise you, we HATE you. You are a shitty businessman and have no skills in the business world. Please stick to your criminal defense lawyer job, you know the one job where you lie for a living.
So I warn anyone please stay away until their bankruptcy filing is DENIED. And it will be if I have anything to do with it. He is a crock and to just move from LLC to LLC knowing he can never be held liable for the things he does to other people.
Don’t get me wrong I love the building except for the LARGE crack in the side of the building that causes our parking garage to flood. Jessie my neighbor took a wet dry vac to the whole parking garage on Monday, he should have ran upstairs and wrote out a bill to Brett right then and there.
Hum the elevator failed inspection because there is water in the shaft, that is safe right.
Bills are not getting paid, we had the housing director look into late sewer and water bills. The trustees do not keep track of bills and cost. They were suposed to be contributing the Condo Association fees over the last year for empty units they are holding on to. Making the reserve in the neg and not keeping track of cost. OPEN THE BOOKS IDIOTS
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
So Kathleen Buckley and Brett Levy
Go to hell, let the bank take the building and leave the current owners the hell out of your plans to ruin peoples lives.
Crooks and criminals. You do not deserve to have this building anymore. We want someone who will be responsive to the other association members. You, I have no no use for.
HE & PG LLC
I hate to say all the above but this madness needs to end…..ASAP

Seems as of late this afternoon the bank has started the bankruptcy has been filed and now the building will be a true foreclosure. This sucks for us since that means there will be 29 foreclosures in my building. YIKES
But at least we will be able to rid ourselves of the horrid HE &PG LLC AKA Brett Levy and Kathleen Buckley. That alone is something to celebrate. This will no longer be theirs and no matter what happens we will be able to have access to the “books”.
Sad to say no Auction tomorrow, but at least it is because they are filing bankruptcy.

So Saturday we went to the interviews held at DCU for “staff” at the new Hanover Theatre. All the positions are strictly volunteer but as an usher you are able to watch the performances for free.
We have already bought tickets for the April showing of STOMP. But will be working Hairspray,David Coperfield and many other shows.
We have our first training tomorrow ! I am very much excited to have something to do in the evenings. Enjoy, meet new people and not spend a cent.

I will say one thing Homeownership is for the birds. I am already tired of paying to much for a place that is losing value each and everyday. I wish we could just walk away, I wish we still lived in Clinton paying 650 a month for rent. What a life, oh yeah that’s right; we were able to have a life because our cost of living wasn’t putting us in the dog house. Of course I had to go an go back to school full-time and even though I am doing fantastic, it is a struggle each day not to just go back to work. Making MONEY.
I am torn between the materialistic and anti consumerist in me… I want to get rid of my car, because it cost to much to keep and I hate being tied to material possessions. But with Neils car starting to need work why would I get rid of a car that is 1 year old. Because payments suck and I wish I either lived in a better city with a great public transportation system or in AZ where I could use a scooter year round. Either situation would be fantastic. Almost preferred.
So as I sit here trying to figure out how to be completly debt free the vision of my car being sold and I buying a 3k dollar beater looks better and better. As my dear step-dad says, “A car that is paid for is the best car to own”
Seriously who the hell do I have to prove anything too, I have done more than most people double my age. I have travelled and explored. I have meet some amazing people. I have done all this when I was extremly poor or owned very little possessions. Instead I have a couple thousand in credit card debt, that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere……fast. I have a 174k dollar mortgage over my head and car payments. I have bills coming in left an right. I seriously do not think this is the life for me. I would do anything right now to have someone offer us just enough to pay this place off and sell everything and move. Somewhere warm and inviting. Neil and I could own a cute little souvinor shop on some island and really live life. We are exsisting not living right now. We need a vacation, we need just time for us, where this bullshit of University Park Lofts is not over our heads.
What does it take to truly live? Because I know I have lived before and I have truly enjoyed my life when I had very little. What does this mean for me, will I only be happy when I am living in a tent on a beach in some other country.
Calgon Take me Away. …………………………….

I will ask if there is one person, just one person who is going to buy the rest of the units. I ask they think about turning one of the less appealing units into a workout facility. It would have a bathroom for showers & toilets and the kitchen area for people to prepare protein shakes and so on.
How nice it would have been if the developers of this building HE &PG LLC were not so greedy and would have used unit 205 as a workout room. I think if they would have completed the roof decks (you know the 3 of us that have money in escrow for them and the other couple interested in them.) and they would have put a workout room instead of saying ” we didn’t think it was a good idea, we want to let people decide where they want to work out”
Well you know something you idiots….People want to work out at home…….We want to have 24 hour access to workout equipment without trying to stuff elliptical in our small units. This would have been another HUGE selling factor. We told them this when the building was still a hard hat only area. No one listens.

Sometimes I forget how little of the world most of the people I go to school with have seen. Being a school that pulls people from the local area, a lot of them have never left Central Massachusetts, never flown on a plane, never traveled and meet new people. I am saddened that people never see the outside of what they know.
Yesterday I received an email from Americorps Alumnus, they were in need of people for team leaders for NCCC because they were opening a new campus!!! YAhhhhh
But here I sit tied down to everything I own and am currently doing. I would pick up in a minute if without an insane amount of bills and head my butt over to Iowa to help a team have the best year of their lives.
Right now I am in the “in between” period of my life, when Neil and I should be traveling but instead we are paying bills and staying home. All so I can be in school right now. I spent a good 7 years just doing what Crystal wanted to do, pack an overnight bag, go to the airport and buy a ticket somewhere and stay in a cute hostel near a beach only to fly home 2 days later.
At this point I need a vacation like it is no ones business. I contemplate selling my very cute car and buying a beater just not to have a car payment. That would free up some money for me and enable me to take long weekend trips to where ever.
I am getting itchy, the kind of itch I have always until now been able to scratch. You know the “I-have-not-been-on-a-plane-in-almost-two-years-itch.” I need to get away, run away to somewhere warm and beautiful to only wish the whole damn time that I never have to return to this cold, shitty ass state named Massachusetts.
I am not sure, but I know this time I am stuck each weekend sitting in the house over this very long winter is not in vain. I am going to school, and will most likely go to school for the next 10 years. But good will come from this…..I have to believe it will at least.

So from the looks of things there is some interest out there for “University Park Lofts” Auction. I get 20 or so hits a day, people contacting me and the Director of Housing for Worcester Scott Hayman mentioning that someone may be interested in buying the last 29 units.
I have to be in school on Wednesday because I am in two classes that are kicking my ass right now, but Neil and most of the people that live here are going to try to arrange to be here for the auction. Scott Hayman had meet with us the other night and he mentioned some things that we need to listen for so we know what is going on.
I must stress besides the normal issues rehabs have with cracks or poor insulation, this building is amazing. We have 10 lovely people living here that all bring something to the table. We will welcome new neighbors even if in our little meetings we have we joke about being the Urban Pioneers that took on a building and non established condo association, who will be like “hell we have been living here the longest” to any new people. But we will not we just want to have a full building in which we can have holiday parties, summer get togethers on the some day completed roof decks and cocktails and conversation.
We have all got pretty use to a BIG empty building, you know the kind where the elevator is always right on your floor because we are all on the 2nd and 3rd floor. I am not going to like waiting for it with my hands full of groceries when people have it on the 5th floor, but I will survive because we will then have a condo association that works and money going into the reserve. You know to fix all the little issues.
So please come down if you are in the market on Wednesday, the showing starts at 9am and auction starts at 10am….
P.S. We all love the urbanness of the neighborhood, it is almost deafeningly quiet and there is no issues. The hype that is MAIN SOUTH does not affect us in the least, we have a nice train that passes through out the day but that is about it.
So please do not worry, this is not a hard place to live, I walk around the neighborhood and go across the street to the park. NO issues… Plus you are a quick 5 minute walk from Clark.

Just finished reading the “Can Obama become too hip for his own good” article on Slate.com.
He was my feedback on the question at hand.
I first saw Obama speak at the DNC in Boston in 2004. He was amazing then. I think this election I have got myself so engulfed in, like many Americans. I think I may be tired of the speeches, but I will never be tired of the energy and positive-ness that Obama projects.
I am 28 years old and this is my 3rd presidential elections that I can be an active part in, I have always elected in any and all elections local and national. BUT and I must write this, I have never been this amped up, gave this much money to an election.
Maybe he is Too HIP to be president but a girl can dream right. To see someone with so much drive how can we fail as a country? How could we not be better off than we have been in the last 8 years? How can we not put aside our cynicism and re-glow with idealism as we all do when we believe that one person can be a change.
I believe that it is not just poetry coming from the mouth of Obama, but honest hope and belief that we can be a great country once more. Hope that we can earn the respect of other countries around the world.
There is some people posting on there about religion and muslims …blah blah blah.
Being afraid of change will never get us anywhere…
BONKB has already commented on my comment:
You’re absolutely correct! And you’re not “dreaming” think he will win, because he’s going to! I think people are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with this “too hip” thing. There seems to be a lot of negavity here regarding Obama – but that’s ok – because he’s winning state after state. McCain, while I think he’s a worthy opponent, will not stand a chance. Why don’t people understand this is bigger than Obama?… this is our last ditch effort to get it right! I’d rather have someone in the position of President with ideals, passion and brilliant ideas any day!
So nobody can figure out what “change” is? Hang on – it’s going to be a great ride!

So Neil had put together a letter and sent it certified to the trustees of the building, no real response to that which is discouraging. At least new people that buy will not need to deal with the bs that us current owners have in the last 6-1 year.
I have watched many nice looking cars and trucks drive by the building, stop and observe the neighborhood and drive off.
I do welcome people to contact me regarding the building, the units ect…
My statement would be. University Park Lofts are fun, raw and unique. They are not boring apartment like Loft-style units.
They give you the space to make your place your place. Of us living here now, we have all done some great things with our units. The prices I am sure will be around 20k or more down from the list prices on the website . At this point none of us worry about lossing the value in our units, but right now with 20 something units still up for sale we have no value in our units. We would much rather have the rest sell at a reduced price and wait out the housing market collapse to bounce back.
We are lucky because we have a “01″ unit and it boast the most windows and views out of any of the units and there is only 3 more of this unit.
So please come check out the auction, if you would like to see the place before then please send me an email and we can work something out.
