Busy weekend, no time to blog, no time to think. It is Tuesday and I am ready for a nap.
So Friday even though I was more tired then I had been in some time the only thing we had planned was the 7:30 showing of Pirates of the Caribbean. We were lucky and were able to exchange our tickets for an earlier showing because we both were going on a few hours of sleep from the show on Thursday night. I am getting old because I can’t handle it anymore. So we went to the 5:30 movie and happy we did the movie being 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was fantastic, not as I expected to end. I will leave it at that but always good eye candy to have Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom to look at for 3 hours.
That was the Friday night for me, it was over 90 degrees outside but the AC was on in the house and very welcoming. Saturday we drove our happy butts to Springfield to go to the Springfield Quadrangle. Check out Neil’s blog for more info on this place. H&M on cute summer shirts and cheap costume jewelry we then headed home.
We headed home and sat in the AC for a bit then took showers because we were going out.
We started the evening at Bocado’s, my personal favorite. I had two glasses of the Esmeralda wine and fried goat cheese. Then we wanted to be a little bit Rock & Roll so we headed over to Ralph’s for a bit. Funny most people I hung out with these when I was single no longer go there and all the bartenders have switched over. Half the people I knew when I was frequenting there 3 nights a week are gone.. Moved away and I envy them.
Then Neil really wanted to watch the UFC match, so we went to Jillian’s. Talk about extremes in locale all night. We paid extra for the VIP section which was the back bar closed off, with free buffalo wings, chips and salsa and veggies w/ranch. After a few drinks there we headed home.
Not before me deciding it would be a great thing to train in Mixed Martial Arts. I am thinking about it.
I did something I have not done in sometime on Sunday…………..I slept until 10:30. Well I was awake for a bit around 7:30 but said fuck that and went back to sleep. It threw my day off but we go going around 1pm. Headed to EMS and REI to check out Kayaks . We went to the EMS in Marlborough and they had what we were looking for but said hell headed to Framingham to see what REI had. Not much!!
Went back to EMS and purchased Neil’s new Kayak
Very nice for the use we will use it. Then Yesterday morning we went to the EMS in Millbury to get mine:
Both very nice looking if you ask me……10 foot vessels because we only have small cars, unlike the rest of the “I love nature, but I am going to drive a huge SUV” people we like getting 35-40 MPG. I have planted the idea in Neil’s head though about a Saturn Vue Hybrid. Still gets 30-35 miles per gallon and we would have more room on the roof for the kayaks. But they worked out both ok on his car.
So yesterday we loaded them both up and headed to Stoneville “Pond” to do some breaking in of the Kayaks. The pond is located in Auburn about 2 miles from our house. We where able to put in at the corner of the pond on Oxford st. Cruised around the pond for couple hours and loaded the boats up and went home. Well to do the normal weekly grocery shop, fun fun..
Somehow we needed 140 dollar in groceries this week….Spent about 70 at Whole Foods on Saturday and 70 at Shaw’s…Oh well…More food in the house less eating out.
So all in all the weekend was enjoyable…busy but fun……back to work today on this fine short week, only these last three days to get my number for the month. It will happen.
So I am fucking tired as tired can be but I am going to write.
Last night I dragged Neil to see Sage Francis with me. I have written about him in the past stating that he is amazing, his words are transforming. I have had a love affair with Spoken Word for a very long time. Tasha and I would sit for hours in this coffee shop in Providence when we were 18 and chill during the Poetry Slams. Few people had words that I truly felt.
I came across Sage by accident in 2001 in Denver. My old boyfriend had gotten comp tickets for this show the Bluebird and we were not doing anything so we went. Half way walking down the street ( I lived 1 block from the Bluebird) he said to me ” wouldn’t it be great if this was some sick hip hop” As we get closer we here the beats and now this night will be great. There was like 150 people at this show, pretty low key compared to his shows now. But there is dedication from all sources for this man.
So back in March when Sage put up the tour dates for the “The Death Dance Tour” I bought tickets right then and there for the Thursday Middle East dates. I was concerned because I also pre ordered his new record and the release date was May 8th. Not much time to learn the new material and to fully enjoy it.
I did receive the record along with my Buddy Wakefield cd. Listened and learned. Uploaded the songs to the Ipod and I listened on break at work, in the car and at home. I had fallen in love. He keeps evolving and transforming into this amazing speaker, writer and MC.
Every time I see him I fall more in love with his work. & I have seen him at least 15 times.
Last nights show was fantastic, almost as good at the hometown shows when he plays Providence, he has much love in the home front. It had been awhile since I had seen him but the best show ever was the last show in Providence after the “Fuck Clear Channel” tour. He had Gruvis Malt at the backup band, was insane.
So last night the show starts out with Buddy Wakefield an extremely well versed Spoken Word artist. It seems as he and I could talk for hours, because spoken word artist tend to take from their own experiences and he seems to have experienced a lot like myself.
He only did three of his “poems” which I could have listened to him all night.
Next, Alias came out did a short 30 minute set , I enjoy Alias and I enjoy his work. I think he speaks hip hop even though being a white boy from Maine. He has been in San Fran with Anticon records for a long time at this point. Sage and him where label mates for awhile.
Then Buck 65 came on, to be honest Neil found him only moderately entertaining and I on the other hand love his style, his sound is like no one else and he keeps me interested. Beth and I use to listen to “wicked and Weird” for hours over and over again a few years back driving to the beach.
Then Sage, in costume as always comes out. He does a Hodge podge of new and “classic” tracks.
Everything from 1997 to now. I was disappointed he did not do ” Hoof prints in the sand” off the Human to Death Dance record it is my personal favorite. He had the singer Dilly Dilly with him for tracks such as “Got up this morning” she has the voice of a saint.
Check everyone out..See if you like it to and always looking for people to go to the July show in Providence with
So a friend of mine today called me a Whore for placing advertising on my page. At this rate i will not keep it because it seems they mixed up who should be getting the John McCain banners. At this moment both the vertical banner and horizontal banner are for John McCain….sighhhhhhh I am not that much of a whore thank you mam….
Home on a Friday because I believed I could just cold turkey a daily and my body is not liking that by anymeans….Dumb ass I am…
!!! Yes a 9 person band who explains there band name as this ; ! ! ! is pronounced as any three repetitive sounds. Common interpretations are chkchkchk, powpowpow, uhuhuh: unlimited possibilities.
Made up of the 9 persons form this bi coastal band. Mario (guitar, bass)Tyler (guitar, percussion, bass)Allan (percussion, sax, drums, keys)John (vox, drums, percussion)Nic (vox)Gorman (percussion, trumpet)Jerry (drums)Justin (bass)
Yesterday on All Things Considered as I am sitting in dead still traffic on Rt9 they start talking about this band. ChkChkChk or “!!!”. Posted is there MYSPACE page for you to take a listen to there very unique style.
They were talking yesterday that in order for them to record they must meet up half way Thur the country since part of the band lives in Sacramento and part lives in NY City. They meet up in the Dingy, Dirty basement in Nashville to record there newest LP “Myth Takes”. They said every musician wishes for that type of recording, dirty, dingy and raw. And to hear Mrs. Seabrook say those words back was very much interesting.
They chat on how they found this high school marching band, they sent one of the guys in the band to arrange for these few kids to record there drums for there new records. Listen to the story here . Right now I am listening to “Heart of Hearts” great song. They have from funk to punk to western sound. There influence being those such as John Spencer Blues Explosion and Dead Kennedy’s.
So yesterday the “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” was brought to the attention to the American people. There has been talk of this for sometime. What exactly would be agreed upon was anyones guess. I am not a fan of President Bush by any means but I liked some of his ideas on how to handle Illegalimmigrants. His plan was an amnesty more then punishment. Which I agree with. This country was founded on immigrants, it is what makes the United States far more progressive then most nations. We strive to be people of little bigotry and be as open minded as we can be. I know there is plenty of people out there ready to say ” They are taking the jobs away from the American people” or they say “The money they make is going back to there counties they came from and not being spent in the United States” I do agree there is plenty of companies out there that do take advantage of the “illegals” because they can. They have them working 80 hours a week to barely have enough money to buy food, almost a servant type position. The workers are forever indebted to there “employer“. But as a humanitarian I can not see people getting taken advantage of and being treated as less of a person because they do not speak English. And yes I do agree that the lesser rates of pay that the immigrants are receiving for there labor is affecting what Americans are making as well. That is why a Guest Worker program could work if it was executed properly. The reform states that immigrants can apply for a working visa for 2 year increments up to 3 times with 2 years between each time period. So in a 10 year span they can work 6 years in the United States and only bring immediate family members in if they have the means to support them. Well this could work but it seems to restricted and may add to the amount of immigrants that are coming here illegally, in turn solving nothing. Also the next point that I would like to mention is the “No amnesty for illegal immigrants” – Why would someone come out of the shadows and become public to the fact that they are illegal knowing they have to apply for a Z Visa after “some” years later. Some most likely being the 7 years that immigrants most live here before becoming citizens. A while back there was talk of this phone line for the IRS that illegal immigrants could supply there tax information and as long as they had proof that they have been doing there “part” as an American they were entitled to a citizenship sooner. I like that they will not be punished if they are “outed”. I think that makes all people feel safe.
Next one I have an issue with is the “points system” for future immigration. At this time most countries have a certain amount of visas they receive from the United States. Mexican immigrants could wait many years to be able to get into the country legally and I am sure when they have hungry children their last thoughts are waiting for the visa. The border of Mexico & the United States is 1,951 miles. The suggested such walls to close the borders is about 700 miles of walls/fencing. Ok so you telling me that Mexicans are not smart enough to go to the other 1200 miles of border to cross over.
The problem with the points system is that it is judged on these following items; Ability to speak English. Level of schooling, including added points for training in science, math, and technology. Job offer in a high-demand field. Work experience in the United States. Employer endorsement. Family ties to the United States.
The issues with points based on these items is this. Individuals working in or on Alfalfa farms in Iowa , Potato farms in Idaho, Meat processing plants in Greeley Colorado or leather factories in New Bedford MA for the most part are not educated and speaking for myself you could not pay me enough to work in a meat processing plant. Since I lived in Greeley Colorado where last year a large raid took place to take over the illegal immigrants in the city of Greeley. That Conagra/Swift & Co beef factory paid works $10.00 an hour to slaughter and clean the meat for packaging to the east coast where we all want our western states Angus beef. Now the $10.00 an hour was the amount of pay they advertised in the Greeley newspaper, not sure if that is what they paid Senor Jose Martinez but that is what they advertised in the paper. Greeley is a city of 84k people, college town in North Central Colorado about 30 miles from Wyoming. Over 29k of them are of Latinoheritage. Living there and knowing my old boyfriends family most are from Mexico and a large amount illegally. My old boyfriends family was one of them a little over 20 years ago they had a Coyote bring them across the border and in the process lost everything they had because it was stolen from them. So the workers that come to this country are not taking jobs that you or myself want, they are taking the jobs that as Americans we feel we are to entitled to have. We are born into luxury and even the working poor in this country have it better then most of the world. Last year I was sent this online widget on where you are in the worlds population as far as income. At 50k a year you are in the top 10% of the richest people in the world. So who are we to bitch! So not having the means for an education in a developing country that has just passed the 3rd world category and most likely not speaking English we must ask ,Who will be picking potatoes in Idaho?
One last thought, I knew a girl Estella that was a lawyer in Mexico City, she came to the United States and took a data entry position at the company I worked for in Denver. She was upset most of the time because people challenged her intelligence because her English was not up to par. What I need to say here is we self righteousAmericans do not have any place to tell people who do not speak two languages that they are inferior to us. English is the hardest language to learn because it makes no fucking sense. We use the same words that have different meanings and we have words that mean the same that are not alike. I would hate to be from another country and have to learn English. So who are we to say anything, because even with Spanglish or broken English most of them have far more brain power then you or me because after the age of 20 the only real way to raise your IQ is to learn a second language.
Below I posted the fact sheet from The White House Dot Gov under focus areas.
“Fact Sheet: Border Security and Immigration Reform”
“On May 17, 2007, Administration Officials And A Bipartisan Group Of Senators Reached Agreement On Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation. The proposal includes:
Putting Border Security And Enforcement First: Border security and worksite-enforcement benchmarks must be met before other elements of the proposal are implemented. Providing Tools For Employers To Verify The Eligibility Of The Workers They Hire: Employers will be required to verify the work eligibility of all employees using an employment eligibility verification system, while all workers will be required to present stronger and more verifiable identification documents. Tough new anti-fraud measures will be implemented and stiff penalties imposed on employers who break the law.
Creating A Temporary Worker Program: To relieve pressure on the border and provide a lawful way to meet the needs of our economy, the proposal creates a temporary worker program to fill jobs Americans are not doing. To ensure this program is truly “temporary,” workers will be limited to three two-year terms, with at least a year spent outside the United States between each term. Temporary workers will be allowed to bring immediate family members only if they have the financial ability to support them and they are covered by health insurance.
No Amnesty For Illegal Immigrants:Illegal immigrants who come out of the shadows will be given probationary status. Once the border security and enforcement benchmarks are met, they must pass a background check, remain employed, maintain a clean criminal record, pay a $1,000 fine, and receive a counterfeit-proof biometric card to apply for a work visa or “Z visa.” Some years later, these Z visa holders will be eligible to apply for a green card, but only after paying an additional $4,000 fine; completing accelerated English requirements; getting in line while the current backlog clears; returning to their home country to file their green card application; and demonstrating merit under the merit-based system.
Strengthening The Assimilation Of New Immigrants: The proposal declares that English is the language of the United States and calls on the United States Government to preserve and enhance it, as well as enacting accelerated English requirements for many immigrants. In addition, the DHS Office of Citizenship will be expanded to include coordinating assimilation efforts in its mission, and the Education Secretary will make an English instruction program freely available over the Internet.
Establishing A Merit System For Future Immigration: The proposal establishes a new merit-based system to select future immigrants based on the skills and attributes they will bring to the United States. Under the merit-based system, future immigrants applying for permanent residency in the U.S. will be assigned points for skills, education, and other attributes that further our national interest including: ability to speak English; level of schooling, including added points for training in science, math, and technology; job offer in a specialty or high-demand field; employer endorsement; and family ties to the U.S.
Ending Chain Migration: The immigration system would be reformed to better balance the importance of family connections with the economic needs of our country by replacing the current system, where nearly two-thirds of green cards are awarded to relatives of U.S. citizens, with a system in which future family immigration will focus on the nuclear family and parents. Clearing The Family Backlog In Eight Years: Millions of family members of U.S. citizens now wait years in line for a green card, with some waits estimated at as long as 30 years. Family members who have applied legally and have lawfully waited their turn in line will receive their green card within eight years. ” WHITE HOUSE- FOCUS
In Neil’s email today this was received because we wanted to see if it was possible to attend the Auction at the DCU center. Guess not.
So lack of attendees is the devil in detail. I will just have to call on Saturday to see what the KILLER deal on the units is. This does make it far better then trying to find the results from the auction. I think the best way to deal with this is to either find an investor who can sit on the property for some time or just hold out. I am sure enough money was made to the Abrams Group for them to be ok for a bit, sure it eats into profits…..but!!!!!!!!!!!! They spent less then 100k building each unit so selling the 70 some odd they did that to me seems like a good enough profit. Greedy Fucks.
So doesn’t look like the Fremont will be welcoming new residence anytime soon.
There is far newer available in Worcester at this time.
So I have started to allow AdSense on my Blog. I receive a lot of feedback from readers on need for information and I do hope that there will be some relevant links for you to look at. I would be happy to host ad’s for Worcester area businesses and Real Estate related subjects.
I will try it out for a couple weeks to see if it works and go from there.
So here is goes. As a child Worcester was the closest city for this Connecticut Gal, But it was always disgusting, run down, dirty. I remember when I was younger and Union Station was abandon. I swore I would never live in Worcester.
So over 10 years on my own at this point I have traveled, seen the world, spent some time in Mexico drinking Clamato and Coronas while mastering how to teach youngings about the wonders of the horrid English language. I moved across the country and back again. I was poor, I was well off. I worked every and any type of job to get myself where I am today.
Most people who have known me for a long time have always known me for listening to the music no one else does, being artsy and a tad bit eclectic. I love art, I love music, I love to spend hours daydreaming about my future. Somewhere along the way I never lost the idealist in me. I have stayed true to my thought, patterns and next move in my life. I stick by what I feel is important and I love to be challenged.
In the last couple years I have had less time to stay with my art and that tends to drag me down. Sometimes I think how much it blows to be an adult. But at the still young age of 27 I have lived the life of a 50 year old.
I have loved and lost, I have struggled to live, I have done day labor and I made shit loads of money. Either way I think I was always happier with less possessions and more free time. I think the best time of my life was me in my 400 sq foot $395 dollars a month studio apartment in Downtown Denver, all my utilities where included and I was poor…Really poor! But it was the best time of my life.
I think I have gone from hell to above ground once more….. But you know new car payments, a new home….and bills. believe me if my boyfriend was willing I would ditch it all and live on the beach in Mexico. I remember this very cute bungalow in Rosarito, Baja that was for sale… Only 20k dollars with plumbing and electricity. In a heart beat I would be there.. Hell buy me another little Vespa Scooter and ride my toosh into San Diego to work each day. The catch you ask is that you have to be a Mexican citizen to buy within 50km of the beach or the border. Damn…
I have had one crazy ride and somehow I ended up here…20 miles from where I said I would never be again.
I moved back to the East coast about 3 years ago found the cutest of apartments in Providence. I was right near the Armory on the West end. I wish I could have lived there forever. But due to work I needed to be in central mass, so I found a cute apartment in Clinton. Not a fan of the town I slept there but didn’t LIVE there…. Then last year after deciding to put the move to AZ on hold Neil and I decided to stay local. Worcester here we come. Plenty of good restaurants and plenty of people we knew… So here I am for at least the next 5 years….Then the Great American West here we come..
People need to know if you want to leave me a comment- do so on this post. This very much rude individual who went by the name Anthony deemed it appropriate to leave a comment about vaulted ceilings in the Fremont Lofts under a blog post on a friend who took his own life. To me that is pretty lamn. Any who I will leave this post open for random comments and I will not accept comments in irrelevant blog postings. There is like 3-4 guys that are all very young in mind that like to be hicks and fish and talk about cars that seem to think they know more then me. BAHAHAHHAHAHA whatever. They can come over leave a comment for me if they like. No Problem.
But please do not leave some petty ass comment under a serious blog posting.
as for your thoughts Anthony on Vaulted ceilings. I know what vaulted ceilings are and most “LOFTS” not the Fremont because those can barely be considered a loft do not have vaulted ceilings. They would have 12-16 foot ceilings. I am talking real lofts not the last 5 years of lofts that have been made to cater to the average person out there such as yourself. Because all you and your bodies who write shit loads of comments prove is you are generic and lamn. Not the type of person I would ever be associated with. Generic….Also the word for the Fremont. Because they are cookie cutter..lets see there is like 15 units that are “C” style…how many that are “S” style….You live in a condo not a loft.
Take a trip to NY or even some old loft buildings in Boston. Again not the ones built up in the last 5 years. I am talking a true work/live artist loft with brick that wasn’t sandblasted to cater to all the generic fools out there. One with real character where you need to put up your own walls or hang a curtain across to separate your space.
The Fremont are “Loft Style” Not Lofts.
again I do not force you to come to my blog and my blog will drive much more traffic then anything others have put up in the last few weeks… I write what I am interested in….Anthony seems you like cars and fishing. Why don’t you write about the newest in fishing lures…Pete you seem to like computers, why do you not talk about the newest advances in computer science and technology. Just write about what is yours…please
what I am getting at here is you all are in desperate need of a life. Sorry to state it so bluntly. But move on and live your so happy lives in your “loft style” condos…
So I am not 100% sure what is going on with the Winter St Lofts. They have been for sale since last summer and I have not seen any action on them in sometime. Here is a MLS for one unit HERE. The one thing I can say for this lofts, is there is only a few of them and you are upstairs from Bacado and down the street from Block 5 Bistro , The Cellar and Hotel Vernon. So only a walk away from drinks and good eats with friends and family. I will do my homework today to see what is going on with the Winter St Lofts since the Hayward Building around the block was just auctioned off and the lofts that were suppose to be built there were halted. I am not crazy about the price of the Winter St if only because the work looks cheap and incomplete and you are 50 feet from 290…Oh the accidents you could see from your windows…
The other day I went to Bacado for some wine after work and was chatting with the bartender there for sometime. He was just starting his look for a new home, condo – loft preferred. So of course I went on a tangent and spoke of everything I have come to know about the Worcester Housing market. Since he already lives near the airport I told him to go check out Kettle Brook this weekend, perfect for the young bachelor.
Because I am a HICK. You know crack open a cold one and grill…lol Anywho I listen to a radio show on the weekends and a few weeks ago there was one of there puzzlers. It was one of the first I have solved in some time. So I am going to ask my overly educated readers if you can solve this one.
In this number sequence what comes next:
3-3-5-4-4-3-5-5-4-???????
Please leave your answers in my comments and I will follow up tomorrow with the solution to the puzzle. If you can give me the next 2 numbers I will send you $1.00 on Paypal If you can give me the next 3 numbers I will send you $3.00 via Paypal… This will be a prize for the 1st 2 enties…one for the person with the 2 number and one for the person with the 3 numbers..
Sitting here on my lunch break. gloomy and not a chance of sunshine. I really just want to take a nap. So, the over whelming amount of drama on my blog and others as of late needs to end. People need to understand it was never personal and to be that vain is immature. It was never about you. It was about the developers and the concept over over saturation in the LOFT market. I will continue to write about it because this is what I do. It seems the man over on the counter blog likes to end his blog once the Auctions at the Fremont go. For all we know he works for them. There is no real proof of who he is. I write the facts….the numbers, you know why? Numbers don’t lie, numbers do not have emotion and numbers don’t attack people. See what I do not his Blog I consider important and no one is twisting your arm to read the words that I write. No name calling and hiding behind an email address is gonna change anything. Send it to your friends, the link Have them take a look. Because in the end it will be your friends buying the remaining units….right?
I have seen and looked at many many many condos in the city of Worcester. I have fallen in love with the most surprising of them. The best one we ever looked at was this 1700 sq foot condo in a school conversion. It was mint! One bedroom had the original blackboard in the room. The only catch was the condo fees where about $400 a month. A bit steep to live on Belmont Hill. That was my first love, we decided to not make an offer and keep looking. The original MLS for our current home had a picture of the kitchen and the kitchen floor. I said ” we need to see this place”. Walked in and I knew I had to live there, it looked done, complete, had character yet everything was new in the unit. 1300 sq feet plus huge deck. I was sold. Still where able to get the open concept in this place because well over 800 sq feet of the condo is Open, each room runs into the next. The house was built by the sellers great grandfather and was handed down until 2005 when he bought the house off his father. The outside of the house is still in process of completing and the inside is amazing. The best conversion of any type I have ever seen. Has the original pine floors that had been refinished- real wood floors. Has beautiful stone tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. High ceilings and wainscoting. custom cabinets and top of the line appliances. In the sale was included two plasma TVs, one in the living room and one in mounted to the wall between the kitchen and dining room, comes in handy for watching my HGTV while I clean or cook. Huge amount of counter space all beautiful black granite counters. Also came with an 8 top dining room table, King sized Sleigh bed, a huge couch which I am not a huge fan of because I prefer clean lines but still. LG Stainless Steel Washer/Dryer. ect………… So to say it was MINT. And with plenty of weekends of work to make it our own we know we made the best decision.
Neil and I may just sign up to go to the DCU center for the Auction of the remaining Fremont Lofts. I like 1st hand experience of the event. We will see!!! Then I can come home and blog about it. Because just because My counter is going to stop blogging about it after the auction what he hasn’t thought of may hurt him if he stops. But I will leave it at that.
This little thing has turned personal because of name calling from the counter and his “friends”. Sad chump you where the type of guy I always hated. You just helped me reaffirm my beliefs. You where the meat head in high school huh.
So what this all boils down to…Is no it is not one sided. I wish Zillow would update our home. But I will mention once more that we had an appraisal at 30k more then we paid. See we bought from a guy that was not as worried about price as he was about having good people living there. He wanted us to live there…Cause we are good people. Our purchase of our current home was personal, the seller could have said nah….But he liked us.. Zillow still shows 12 ludlow st as a 1 family but nope…It is now 3 units. The value as a whole has went up also because the amount of work that has been done on the place. What Zillow doesn’t know is that someone bought it in 2005 and gutted the whole thing. The appraisal when he bought the building is not at all what it would come over now. But the Fremont Lofts where appraised as brand new and you would have to do some serious construction in your unit to make the value stay where you want it to. They are cookie cutter lofts, far to man y in one building and not original. You have some nice vaulted ceilings on the 4th floor and the back end of the 2nd floor, but besides that , what do you have??? really cheap looking islands in some of the kitchens. I know when we looked at them I stated the 1st thing I would do is rip the wood ( butcher block looking) top off the island and put a poured concrete surface.
It seems a large amount of the Kettle Brook are already reserved and I think people see the value in a developer with a true vision. The model unit the water below you goes by, how relaxing would that be off the balcony in the summer…
Hipster-Wannabe SmackDown said… Mmmm…nasty words from a nasty girl. Someone’s getting a little testy – is the tina starting to wearing off?
Oooh-ooh. Looks like 12 Ludlow ain’t doin’ so well. Trending downward. Tsk tsk. Looks like you made a mistake. But why mention it? That would be full disclosure, and it’s so much more fun to be one-sided.
But this isn’t about you…I can make it about you…but no…
these are the comments on Pete’s blog the anyonmous dumbass.. I love how people can talk shit and never have to prove who they are. Anywho the Zillow on my home still states it is a 1 family and the price we paid is 30k less then the appraisal price. So no we didn’t loss. Zillow has not updated our address as of yet, I wish it would, but the home was a 1 family since the previous owners great grandfather built it.
I would be more then glad to open my home up for people to take a look at… You know attention to detail…the expensive appliances, the jacuzzi tub and rain shower head above you in the shower. The 1300 sq feet of beutiful. lets see the stove in my place is a 3k dollar JenAir stove that has a grill top. we ahave a $900 LG Dishwasher…$2500 LG Fridge… beautiful stone tile floors…custom cabinets…picture frame wainscotting in the dinning room, beautiful pocket doors into the living room. When we moved in the place was just being finsihed. The seller had completly gutted the place to studs and redid the entire unit. This summer the siding is getting redone without a penny of what we earn going to it. So please send me an email and I would be more then happy to show off my home. Everyone I know wishes they lived in my home…
and what the fuck does this mean? is the tina starting to wearing off?
So Mr. Pete started his little blog to try to protect his investment. The thing is when it came to the Fremont Lofts, I wasn’t talking to him. I was talking to people looking for a new home and letting them know the homework has already been done for them. See for 1 Pete there is 20 people that email me to thank me for my input, they like that I write about the Fremont Lofts, University Park Lofts, the auctioning off of the Kelly Sq lofts and ect….This is something I enjoy and no I do not enjoy the craziness of one person wanting to “protect his investment”. The truth is the remaining units will most likely be bought by a bank or investors, turned into apartments (which will also make it hell if only a small percentage of the units are owner occupied). I am about 90% sure that this AUCTION for the Fremont Lofts will not lead to individuals purchasing the units. Banks have bought 85% of the foreclosed and auctioned off property in Massachusetts. Do your homework you will see!!!!
What I do is test the waters to help people make a sound decision when investing in what could be there biggest purchase ever in there life. My dear friend Pete here contradicts himself in stating he is proud of his home and in the same paragraph knows his wife and himself made a mistake and all my blog does is dig the knife in deeper.
I wasn’t ever attacking a person. I was merely helping others looking for a home find something that would bring them happiness yet also be a great investment. The Fremont Lofts are not a good investment. They are already outdated and the Kenmore Elite Stoves and fridge are what 500 dollars at Sears. Find something where the floors do not buckle up, Neil and I went from September to November looking at them and of the remaining almost 30 units at the time about 20 of them had floors that where coming up, engineered hardwood my ass. Then they fill in windows with drywall and the granite they placed in the bathrooms is discolored and cheap. This is something I know. I have seen much better quality lofts in my days and the Fremont is like the big box store of Lofts.
So yes go check out the Fremont’s Auction on the 20th, just so you can see for yourself. I never have suggested anything different, but know that the future development in the city of Worcester is already past the simple-ness of the Fremont Lofts.
Check out Kettle Brook… No matter my complaints with size, the amenities will surpass
Friday I left work early to make it to Jack’s wake, not looking forward or feeling calm enough to go. See things like this cause me anxiety because I never know what to say. I am always nervous and shaky.
I was there as one of the 1st people and I was able to talk with Ben, Grace and Jack Sr for a bit and see how they are doing. Spent awhile there seeing people i have not seen in years some of them. Listened to RJ talk of the hard time Jack was having in the time following up to his to short of a departure. It was a bit much to take in.
I had plans that night with Jen because she was in town and I wanted to combine them. Meaning see the people that I have not seen in years with hanging out with Jen.
We started the night at Mikey Green’s having a few drinks and the guys got stupid, then headed to the Gold Eagle in Dayville. Nice cheap drinks, for real I bought a round of drinks for 10 people and it was like 25.00 for all of it. Not city prices that is for sure. Then we made our way to the British Pub in Putnam, this is where everyone from the funeral had went to after 8pm. Was able to sit and chat with some old friends and observe a bridal shower going on with a hug blow up penis. Always a good time.
We brought my brother home and then headed back to the Woo.
Saturday was my 1st ever Red Sox game at Fenway. It was ok, I was really cold the whole game so made it hard to have a good time. But maybe I could handle a hot ass July game versus a cold May game. We will see.
Yesterday being Mother’s day I made my way to Connecticut to bring my mom to lunch. We went to the Vanilla Bean and ate yummy food. Visited for a bit there and headed home. Was so tired yesterday that I cleaned the house and vegged out on the couch. LONG Day.
Monday is here again and I forgot to take a pill last night before bed and woke up at 4am this morning and was not able to go back to sleep. Fuck I am tired.
